IP address / Netblock / Country Bans

Ip address range: 125.0.0.0 to 125.255.255.255

Reason: Visitors from 125.* have a history of malicious activity, channel flooding, and other bad stuff, the address range is banned tfn.

Domain *!*@*.dial.bell.ca :

Reason: Banned due to unruly dialup users.  This does not affect the dsl users on this domain.

Country: Turkey

Reason: Most Turkish ISP's have an enormous amount of infected computers, resulting in excessive channel spam.  These ISP's are not effectively managed, so those are banned.

Country:    As much of Mainland China as we can figure out how to ban

Reason:  Extensive malicious hacking activity, spam, and other nastiness from infected computers on Chinese netblocks.  Therefore, most Mainland China and Korean address ranges are banned.

Country:  Parts of Korea

Reason:  An excessive amount of hacked computers, spam, drones, and similar issues.

Notes:

Many ip address ranges beginning with: 85.*, 86.*, 87.*, 88.*, 202.*, 203.*, 218.* or 219.* are banned due to excessive infected computers and spam.  If you are caught in one of these bans, please consider complaining to your internet service provider, or get an account with an alternate provider.

The channel and the network both reserve the right to ban any individual ip address, or address range, or internet service provider without prior notification or explanation.
